Take a charging cable with you everywhere
There have been many, many times when I’ve left the house without a way to charge my phone. And I can’t tell you how many times I’ve gotten into the single digits with battery life on my phone because I’m ALWAYS on it. So, I’ve found that just like the old adage, “the best camera is the one you have with you,” the same can be said about a charging cable. This is why I really like the new wearable trend that include charging cables in items like bracelets. Torro has a great option for a hidden charging cable that is both stylish and functional — the Onyx Lightning Charging Cable Bracelet.
DETAILS
Torro provides charging cable bracelets to all types of users. They have several different styles to match personalities as well as function. The bracelet is billed as a “state-of-the-art jewelry piece that doubles as a charging cable.” The Onyx has a sleek, simple design and features jet black metal for the connector. While I chose the Lightning connector for the charging cable, Torro also offers USB-C and Micro USB as charging options with the Onyx. The connector is USB 2.0 and it can be used with USB outlets, external power banks, laptops, gaming consoles, and more. Because this is a ‘wearable,’ Torro adds an additional layer of protection to improve durability and reduce fraying. There are three different bracelet sizes — small, medium, and large. Torro provides a decent option for sizing the wrist along with measurements for each size.
USER EXPERIENCE
The Onyx bracelet is shipped in a very elegant product box that features a magnetic front cover. When opened, the box showcases not only the bracelet but also the size chart and different styles of bands that are available. In my opinion, this product is so versatile that I could see one person having more than one bracelet for different occasions and uses. The box also provides a guide of potential uses of the charging cable (Torro-to-computer, Torro-to-outlet, and Torro-to-battery). While many devices are moving toward USB-C as their main connector of choice, I opted for the Lightning connector for this bracelet. Keeping my iPhone charged throughout the day is my main concern and it needs a Lightning cable for charging.
I love the design and look of the Onyx. Torro has a lot of different options for bracelets, but the Onyx really suited me the best. It’s subtle and because it’s black, it matches everything. The band is single-braided faux leather and it is very comfortable. I’ve had several people be surprised when they see me take off the bracelet and plug my phone into it. I’ve not had any issues with the Lightning connector plugging into the iPhone and staying connected. It has charged both my iPhone and iPad (older model) efficiently and I love the convenience of having the charging cable with me all the time.
CONCLUSION
The Onyx Lightning Charging Cable Bracelet is a great option for people who are constantly on the go — like me. It’s comfortable, functional, and it eliminates the need to carry a loose cable around. Some people may not like the fact that the cable is short, but if that’s the case, they should probably carry around a full-length cable. For charging on the go, the Onyx Lightning Charging Cable Bracelet by Torro is a wonderful wearable to have.
