Over the past several years, I have grown to appreciate several brands of flashlights ( AceBeam, Olight, Fenix, and Nitecore to name a few). The LED and battery technology have advanced significantly when compared to the ridiculously large D-cell battery-powered lights of my childhood. I remember the lights were more like clubs/weapons than illumination sources. Additionally, our junk drawer/cabinet was rife with C and D-cell batteries.

Thanks to rechargeable LiPo batteries, many modern LED lights push well past their weight/status and provide copious amounts of light. Many brands offer small lights, larger lights, flood lights, spotlights, and various specialty lights for work, photography, and even underwater (BigBlue, Sola, and Halcyon, as examples).
