StarTech Quick Identification Cables REVIEW — MacSources
Over the past year, we’ve updated our offices and gaming setups several times. We’ve been trying to find the most efficient and powerful setup possible. In order to do that, we wanted to connect a tablet to an external monitor and achieve 4K resolution with at least a 120Hz refresh rate. This isn’t impossible with a laptop or computer, but it’s difficult with a mobile device.
One of the most essential pieces to that puzzle was the cables we were using. I needed to use a DisplayPort 1.4 cable. Even though I’ve accumulated several DP cables throughout the years, none of them were labeled with their version. So, I went through different types of testing to ensure I was using the right cable. It was infuriating. I just wanted to be able to look at the cable and know what type of cable it was. Apparently StarTech.com also thought this was a good idea and designed the Quick Identification Cables.
