Nomad Base Station Mini Magnetic Wireless Charger 2022 REVIEW — MacSources
Nomad wireless charger provides consistent power for connected devices thanks to the built-in magnets.
I’m a huge fan of wireless charging. There was even a point in time — before iPhones had wireless charging capabilities — where I considered switching to a different brand of phone just so I could use wireless charging. That said, ever since Apple joined the wireless charging game there has been an influx of wireless charging devices.
One of the things I don’t like is missing the charging area on the charger. It’s happened to me many times, but thanks to the Base Station Mini from Nomad, I don’t have to worry about that anymore.
The Base Station Mini is a magnetic wireless charger that combines Nomad’s modern design style with premium technology. The charging surface is padded and covered with leather. While it’s not a MagSafe charger, it does have magnets built into the charging surface that assists with proper charging alignment with the 15W Wi coil inside the Base Station Mini.
The charger has a built-in power indicator LED that has an ambient light sensor. The sensor dims the LED at night so that it’s not overpowering in the dark. While the Base Station Mini is built with a 15W transmitter coil, some devices, such as the iPhone, are limited to lower charging rates. The charger was designed to be as thin as possible so that it works on a bedside table as easily as a desk.
The Base Station Mini is designed to charge one device at a time. There are larger Base Station devices that can charge multiple items simultaneously. This charger does work with all Nomad cases.
