Provides simple lighting when needed.
There are lots of interesting options for lighting these days. As a photographer, I take notice of new and interesting ways to create lighting effects and I read about the Tape Light from NoBox, I decided to take a closer look at it.
DETAILS
The Tape Light is a retractable LED strand that includes 30 individual lights on the cord. It can reach up to 18 inches in length and has approximately 36 hours of run time on a full charge. The lights are rechargeable using the Micro USB cable that is included on with the Tape Light. The lights can reach a full charge in approximately 2 hours. USER EXPERIENCE
I love the idea of these lights. First of all, they are incredibly bright. While I was writing this review, I decided to hang one of the Tape Light strands (I had three) near my computer. I had to turn it down to its low setting because the lights were blinding. One of the most appealing features of this product is its compact nature. It has a very small footprint and I can easily through one (or two) into my camera backpack before a shoot in case I find myself needing supplemental light or even a background bokeh.
I have to admit that even though I read through the specs before ordering the Tape Light, I was still surprised at its length. At 18 inches, it’s not much longer than my forearm. That doesn’t leave a whole lot of light strand to play with. I was really hoping for something that could end up being a swirling, twirling background light effect, but with it only being 18 inches, that’s a little too short for what I had hoped for.
That said, the light the Tape Light produces is very good. It does a good job for what it’s designed for and I will definitely keep it on-hand so that I have a quick, easy option for lighting on the go. Tape Light is a great product for people who enjoy camping and need just a little more light in certain areas. It’s very affordable and a fun option for needing just a bit of light.
