Luxurious leather case provides a wallet option to carry with your phone.

I’m a sucker for a good case. My iPhone is rarely without one and I usually have two or three on standby. Even though I’m a ‘case person,’ I still like to have cases that serve dual-purposes. One of my favorite features in modern cases is the addition of wallets. Some have full-fledged folios built into the case while others are slimmer and more simplistic like the Leather Wallet Case by Mujjo.

DETAILS

The Leather Wallet Case is made with high-quality, full-grain, vegetable-tanned leather. It will gain a natural patina as it is handled and used over time. The camera opening and mute button feature a leather chamfer that subtly curves inward, but the buttons are fully covered in leather. The inside is lined with Japanese microfiber with a sophisticated satin-like finish. The leather bezel has a 1mm rise above the edge of the screen to provide screen protection. The card pocket is designed to hold 2–3 bank, ID, or commuter cards.

USER EXPERIENCE

The Leather Wallet Case comes in a nice retail package with an image of the product on the cover. The box cover actually opens to reveal details of the case on the inside of the cover. There is a transparent window where you can see the ‘real’ product inside the box and a small cutout that allows you to feel the soft leather of the case. That window actually lifts open to allow you to take the case out of the box.

One of the first things I noticed was how soft the leather was — inside the case and out. The inside of the case is more of a suede feel which helps to prevent scratches from happening on the phone. The card pocket comes with a dummy card included. It’s a “Mujjo Certificate of Authenticity.” The pocket felt a little tight for only holding one card when the specs refer to this pocket holding 3 cards. So, I decided to put this claim to the test. I grabbed my driver’s license and two credit cards. I couldn’t even get two cards inserted without the leather pulling horribly bad. For me, though, I’m only looking for a slim wallet case like this to house one card.

At the time this review is being written, we are in the heart of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and when I go out to grocery stores, I try to take in as little as possible. I’m fortunate to have a HomeSoap disinfecting device in my home so when I get home, my phone and keys go straight into that device while I take a shower to disinfect myself. With that said, I love that I can slide my debit card into this case to carry into the store and only have to worry about cleaning that device instead of my entire purse.

As far as installation and fit on the iPhone — this case is actually really amazing. The color is the perfect complement to the Midnight Green color of the iPhone 11 Pro and it’s easy to install and remove from the phone when needed. Some leather cases I’ve used have such a tight fit that it’s nearly impossible to pull off the phone when you want to. The Mujjo case is smooth and it slides on and off with ease.

CONCLUSION

As far as leather cases go, this might just be my favorite. I’ve had a problem with them in the past because of how difficult they are to handle, but Mujjo got the fit just right. The added bonus of the wallet pocket is brilliant and I really can’t say enough about the color matching the iPhone’s color. This is a beautiful case and I would recommend it to any iPhone 11 Pro user.
