LIFEID is a unique device that uses technology in a smart way.
I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes as a child. I am no stranger to medical alert bracelets, tags, jewelry, or anything that essentially advertises that I have a medical condition in bright-red, capitalized letters. Growing up, I always felt like I was wearing a neon sign that alerted the world that I was sick. All I wanted was to be treated like a normal kid.
The bracelets and necklaces were always too big. They were bulky, difficult to wear, intrusive, and gaudy. I loathed wearing it, but my mom felt it was an absolute necessity. The medical information was custom engraved onto the tag, and it was ridiculously expensive to replace as your medical information changed. Not to mention, the price increased based on the number of letters or words being engraved. It just wasn’t a feasible option to keep up to date when I was younger.
