LEVO Rolling Laptop Workstation Stand REVIEW

When I was younger we had one of those hospital tables that is designed to slide under a bed. It’s made that way so that patients can use them easily for meals and other activities. It was convenient to have, but we didn’t have a lot of uses for it at the time because this was before laptops became popular. About 10 years ago, I bought myself a folding tray table that would slide under couches and chairs so that it could be up close to you when you were sitting on one of those pieces of furniture. I’ve seen a natural evolution of portable workstations but none of them were as advanced as the LEVO Rolling Laptop Workstation Stand which I am currently testing.

DETAILS

The LEVO Rolling Laptop Workstation Stand makes it possible for you to use your favorite couch or reading chair as a workstation. The LEVO stand’s cantilever design allows it to extend over your furniture so that you can remain comfortable while you work. The stand will hold laptops up to 17 inches and has a sturdy 22-pound base to keep the laptop from toppling over. The workstation is engineered to minimize bouncing while you type. There are quick locking height adjustments and allows you to move the stand from a sitting position to a standing position quickly and easily. In addition to being useful as a laptop workstation, the LEVO Rolling Laptop Workstation Stand also works great as an art desk for sketching or painting.

USER EXPERIENCE

The workstation arrives in pieces and some assembly is required. It’s not complicated. LEVO makes it very easy. Each of the pieces is designed to lock into the next making assembly take less than 10 minutes. I didn’t have any large issues with assembly but did find that a couple of the screws didn’t line up quite right and had to be forced a little bit. Once it was put together, I was concerned about whether or not the tray would actually hold my laptop. But as it turned out, the tray was hefty enough to hold a 15-inch MacBook Pro and a 13-inch MacBook Pro quite easily. I did notice that it was a little wobbly as I was using it. It didn’t shake while I typed but it did tilt and twist. I would love to see an option for tightening it.

The quick lock adjustments on the leg of the stand were easy to use as well. There are two locks and it can extend the leg up to 40 inches. I actually only had it a few inches up from the minimum height of 22 inches because I used the stand while sitting in a rocking chair and on the couch. Neither of those locations required much more than the minimum. I thought the locks did a good job of keeping the stand at the specified height that I locked into place. I didn’t slide down from where I set it.

Now, even though I found the stand to be quite sturdy overall, I did find a few things that I would love to see improved. First, I would like to see the arm be able to extend farther. I had a few issues with placing the workstation and having the laptop plate be in the proper spot for me to use it. It wasn’t ever really in the center — it would end up being a little to the left or a little to the right of center. If there was an arm extension included, that wouldn’t be an issue.

Another thing I would like to see improved is the plastic locks that keep the laptop from sliding off the plate. They stick up quite a bit and they are hard plastic. It would be nice if those were a bit shorter so that they don’t interfere with the operation of the laptop. It would also be nice if there was some sort of rubber or silicone covering for those clips.

CONCLUSION

The LEVO Rolling Laptop Workstation Stand is a really nice option for a mobile workstation. As a stand, it’s sturdy, but I did find some room for improvement. I would still recommend this workstation to others but want to make sure others are aware of the small issues I had.
