HP 24f 24" IPS LED FHD FreeSync Monitor
10
A top-notch monitor for smaller workspaces.
When you live your life on a laptop, you get used to having limited screen real estate and to be honest, I didn’t know what I was missing by not having an external monitor until I had a dual monitor set up at work. Once I became accustomed to having that type of workstation, I decided I wanted it at home, too. In the past two years I’ve had a curved gaming monitor that had a monster stand, a 34-inch ultra wide monitor that consumed most of my desk space, and now, I have a petite 24" HD monitor by HP that is just about ideal for my uses.
DETAILS
The HP 24f FreeSync Monitor is a 23.8-inch monitor that features an anti-glare panel. The monitor is virtually frameless and has a minimalist design. The monitor also has a Low Blue Light mode that helps to prevent eyestrain. The monitor provides a full HD 1920×1080 resolution for users and has a 75 Hz refresh rate. As the name suggests, the monitor also features AMD FreeSync technology, which synchronizes the refresh rate between the GPU and display to eliminate stutter. You can connect to the monitor via HDMI or VGA input and enjoy a 178º horizontal and vertical viewing angles.

USER EXPERIENCE
The set-up of the monitor was super easy. The stand is only two pieces and once it’s assembled and attached to the monitor screen, you’re ready to connect cables. I have a 2016 MacBook Pro so I am connecting to the monitor through a docking station. I haven’t experienced any issues with the monitor’s connection or any type of lag either.
One of the features I like so much about this monitor is its small footprint. It has a very thin bezel and small stand so if you have compact desk space like I do, it’s perfect as an external monitor. Prior to this monitor, I had a 34-inch Ultrawide that while I enjoyed the desktop space was just far too large for my desk. This 24-inch beauty is perfect for my needs.
For the price point, I would definitely recommend this to users of all types. It does have an IPS screen and wide viewing angle (178 degrees), which makes it appealing even for users who do photo and video editing. The colors and brightness look great and aren’t washed out.
CONCLUSION
I live my life on a laptop. It goes with me everywhere and while I love being portable, I really love being able to connect my computer to this lovely external monitor and have a better overall experience. I’ve used several different styles of monitors, but this one from HP is just about perfect for my needs. It’s compact, provides a crisp picture, and connects easily through HDMI.
